Mr. Latif Hakam, The president of The Upleta Memon Jamat initially thanked the audience for their presence and making the annual prize distribution function a great success.

He thanked the president of the function Dr. A. Rauf Sumar, the chief guest Dr. Aslam Shivani and other important guests present.

Mr. Latif said that by the Grace of Allah Almighty, it is highly appreciable for us that politics has not yet entered into our Jamat and prayed to The Almighty that in the future, The Upleta Memon Jamat remains isolated from worldly politics, and work as a pure welfare institution. He was thankful to the ladies wing that played an active role and worked hard in training students for speeches, preparation of bio-datas, etc. The children have also shown keen interest and have worked hard in spite of their busy schedule. He said education does not mean only going to school and browsing books and turning into bookworms. A child should have the self-confidence and experience along with their degrees. Lack of self-confidence makes a child dumb. They should have an art of addressing huge audiences. They should develop their personality and then, will surely be counted as a successful person.

Besides education, we parents must also concentrate and give our children the best of Islamic Education. We thank Allah Almighty that we are the followers of Islam, and it is our duty to teach our children Islamic culture and educate them accordingly.

Last but not the least, he thanked all his committee members who helped him throughout the year, he also thanked the volunteers and workers without whom the prize distribution function would not have reached such a tremendous success.

He concluded his speech by assuring the people of The Upleta Memon Jamat that the entire committee of The Upleta Memon Jamat, Mumbai is always ready to help whenever any one calls for them.
