A Steering Committee of International Organization of Memons

The Delegation of Memon International-2001 greatly appreciate the efforts of the sponsors and organizers of this highly successful convention held in Dubai on 28th, 29th April, 2001 and pray that may Almighty Allah (SWT) reward the sponsors and organizers abundantly both in this World and hereafter, Ameen.

The following Resolution made by the delegates resolved that:

1. There shall be international organization of memons for the upliftment and advancement of the Memon Community in all aspects of life at all times under the guidance of Islamic principles.

2. A Steering Committee be formed consisting of the following members:

(A) Five Sponsors of the Dubai Convention

3. The terms of reference of the steering committee shall include the following

1) To suggest a suitable name of the proposed international organization of Memons.
2) To prepare a draft constitution, standing orders and the modus operandi of the proposed International organization of Memons.
3) To present the draft Constitution etc. at the second international convention to be held in Dubai within a year, preferably after the Holy month of Ramadan for adoption;
4) It shall have the power to co-opt not more than additional five (5) members from India, Pakistan, United Kingdom and South Africa;
5) It shall have a Chairman and four (4) Deputy Chairman, one each from India, Pakistan, United Kingdom and South Africa;
6) It shall have Hon. Gen. Secretary and two (2) Assistant secretaries;
7) The principal office shall be in Dubai and the Secretarial shall be in London
8) The finances required for the preparatory work shall be borne by all the countries in ratio to be determined by the steering committee.
9) The steering committee shad be empowered to carryout all other incidental matters relating to the preparatory work.
10) All other countries, wherever there is Memon Community, shall have the right to be nominated on the steering committee.

The above resolution duly adopted on 29th April 2001 in Dubai.
