Mutton Biryani

Fragrant basmati rice layered with marinated mutton, slow-cooked to create a rich and aromatic biryani.

Instructions

    Wash rice and soak 20 minutes. Drain.

    Marinate mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, spices, and salt for 1–2 hours.

    Fry onions in oil until golden. Remove half for garnish.

    Layer rice and mutton in a pot. Cover and cook on low heat 45–50 minutes.

    Garnish with fried onions, coriander, and mint. Serve with raita.

  • Onion – 2 medium, sliced
  • Yogurt – ½ cup
  • Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric – ½ tsp
  • Cooking oil – 4 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 3 cups
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Fresh coriander and mint – 2 tbsp each
