Biryani - Simple Home Style

A fragrant one-pot rice dish with meat and aromatic spices, a beloved Memon celebration dish made simple for home cooking.

Instructions

    Marinate chicken in yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and spices for 1 hour.

    Boil water with salt, bay leaves, and whole spices.

    Add rice and cook until 70% done.

    Heat ghee, fry onions until golden and crispy.

    In a heavy pot, layer rice and marinated chicken alternately.

    Sprinkle fried onions on top.

    Cover with foil and lid, cook on high heat for 2 minutes until steam forms.

    Reduce heat to low and cook for 45 minutes.

    Turn off heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

  • Cardamom – 4
  • Cinnamon – 1 inch
  • Ghee – 1/2 cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Water – 4 cups
